What if I told you that the cause of the explosion in Beirut was a nuclear device?  Not that I know, but the fireworks factory blowing up story is getting old.  What if it was a nuke?  Not one from a country, but one of the many lost or stolen bombs that float like uncharted junk around the planet?  Who has their fingers on them?

How long before we have someone who will start WWIII, if they haven’t already?  Just because they can and will.  They might not even mean to.  I have always wondered why people assume war just shows up on your door.  I do realize that some attacks are a complete surprise, but the world has been in an acute crisis all year, for decades, hundred-year cycles. We’d be lying to ourselves if we said “Problem in Beirut?  There is no problem in Beirut.  What happened?”

The war doesn’t have to start.  Learn to work together.

First thing to do is find out what happened and if we can help.  That would be the neighbourly thing to do.  I can’t really understand why they wouldn’t want our help.

And days later they are still without Canadian assistance.  Why?
